life in the MAP
I'm thankful that I love my job. I teach hilarious high school students in a small setting. My students crack me up every day. They are full of life's questions and ridiculous high school antics. Because of our program's really small setting, we have less than five students in a classroom, we interact more like a family. We, the teachers, are older siblings and or surrogate parents during the academic day. I teach my students about the causes of the Civil War, SAT tips, the necessity of wearing deodorant every day, how to ask someone to the prom, the importance of treating people with respect, and how to cope with stressful situations at home. There are very few jobs where you feel like your work matters.
